I could, therefore I should.

Hello, my friend!

As we approach the fun, but often very packed, holiday season, I just want to remind you of something — just because you could, doesn't mean you should.

Before the craziness begins (it may have already, honestly), just remember to take a minute and be intentional with your "no's" and your "yeses."

When we're trying to balance our home life, family, friendships, commitments, and work obligations, it's easy to say "If I can, then I will." I'm being a "good steward," we ourselves.

But we have to remember to leave margin for rest.

I was struggling with this lately. I let you know last week that I'm launching a podcast very soon (the first episodes drop on Wednesday actually ♥️). Well, what I didn't tell you is that I originally had it in my head that I was going to make two episodes for you every week — not because you told me you wanted two, but simply because I think I can, therefore I should.

Soooo, that was faulty thinking. I had been SO EXCITED about this podcast releasing soon. But I started to feel unsettled the closer it came to releasing. I couldn't pinpoint why...

I journaled and went to the Lord in prayer, because what else am I to do, right?

He very clearly directed me to drop it down to one episode per week. This was Wednesday afternoon.

The moment I did that and reworked the release schedule, literally it felt like a weight was lifted. Anxiousness completely gone.

THEN

Thursday night at church (we go to Thursday evening service instead of Sunday), the new sermon series we started was about how Jesus prioritized His yeses and no's.

The Lord and His impeccable (and sometimes comedic) timing...

If you're starting this holiday season off overwhelmed, I encourage you to take a minute to pray over this and ask the Lord what you can let go.

He'll direct your steps ♥️

MY PODCAST 🤩

What an exciting week! My first 3 episodes will drop Wednesday morning. My show is available to follow now, so if you go give it a follow you won't miss when the episodes drop.

I can't wait to start pouring into you in a new way this week. I appreciate your support!

Encouragement for this week:

8 The one who gets wisdom loves life;
the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.

— Proverbs 19:8 (NIV)

Thank you Lord for giving us the wisdom we seek when we need it most. Please help us to know when to say "yes" and "no" during this busy season. Let our focus be on Your son, Jesus, and living for Your glory. Amen.

Praying you have a blessed week!
