Hey friend,
I love learning.
Truly. Give me a podcast about parenting, wellness, business, rhythms, homeschooling, faith — I’m all in.
But a while back I realized something subtle was happening.
I was listening to a wellness podcast every single week. And every single episode added something new to my mental load.
- Swap this ingredient.
- Avoid that product.
- Buy a red light. (But not that one.)
- Add this supplement.
- Start this new routine now.
None of it was bad. But I started to feel… behind.
Like if I knew better, I should be doing better. And I didn’t realize how heavy it felt until I stopped listening for a season.
When I removed it from my weekly rhythm, I felt lighter.
Not because learning is bad. But because I didn’t need more inputs. I needed to put into practice what was actually priority in my family's life.
Now I only listen occasionally — when the topic aligns with what I’m actually working on in this season.
That shift has had a tremendous impact.
This week’s podcast episode is for the chronic learners — the moms who genuinely want to grow but end up overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information available.
Ep 18 | Learning More Is Holding You Back: Information Overload for Christian Moms
In this episode, I talk about:
- The difference between knowledge and biblical wisdom
- Why more information doesn’t automatically produce progress
- How consuming future-stage content creates anxiety
- Why one faithful step beats constant consumption
As a former Program Manager, learning was rewarded. More certifications. More frameworks. More expertise.
But when you’re a one-woman show — especially if you're building something meaningful while raising kids — more knowledge doesn’t always equal more momentum.
Sometimes it just equals more pressure.
There’s a time to learn. And there’s a time to practice.
If you’ve been saving episodes, bookmarking posts, buying books… and still feeling stuck, I pray this episode gives you permission to let the excess go.
Hit reply and tell me — motherhood or work? Which one overwhelms you more right now? You can literally just reply with one word.
Cheering you on,
